John and Eirian in Bangalore..                                                                              (top)

It had been a long time since we had a visit from John. What made this visit more memorable was the fact that Eirian and John made the trip together.

This is what they had to say about the Sepia Team...

John Hart – Senior Partner – Baum Hart & Partners and Eirian Hart –Senior Consultant – Baum Hart & Partners

“We were both so pleased to have an opportunity to come to Bangalore together at last, and to meet properly all the members of the team who have developed Sepia to the major system it is today. We often chat with them, from day to day when using Instant Messager online, but it is so much nicer to meet in person. We also had a great trip together with the team.

" We want to thank Shashi, Devaki and Jayaraj in particular, for all their excellent efforts in the main system. Then thanks are also due to Pratima for the outstanding Help facilities, Aruna for Sepia on the web, Nagendra for all the PDA development, and Shubha and everyone else involved, in so many different ways. There have been many long hours for everyone, working to difficult deadlines and making as sure as we all can that everything is ready for each release. We both hope that everyone feels, with us, that they can be very proud of the results all their hard work has achieved! “

Shashidhar Satyanarayan – Project Manager – Sepia, would like to add to the above:

“It’s Devaki who has done the Lion’s share of work for the release of Sepia Ver 3.00.00. She did it without a getting tired or upset, even when the enhancement list was growing day by day. It took away lot of her spare time during the weekends and other holidays, which she gracefully sacrificed for the successful completion of the system. She deserves all the credit for the completion of the system. Its still the early days of the latest release, and if any bugs appear in the system, then the fault is entirely mine for not sharing the load fairly and equally with her.

" One should not forget the efforts by Shubha, who worked over several weekends to put all the reports and several functionalities into shape along with Devaki. When the focus is on the Client Server version its easy to relegate the Web version to the background. Aruna did not let this happen and she constantly kept updating the web version silently and its due to her efforts that the Web version is up-to-date.

" Nagendra also kept up with the development of PDA version and did not lose his patience when we overlooked to inform him about the changes done to the backend requiring him to modify his code.

" I have to thank Pratima for updating the Help system well within the release date. Eirian was so pleased when she saw the Help system reflecting all the changes made to Sepia system that she had a special chat with me (as Pratima was unavailable on that day) to convey her happiness over the Help system.

" I would like to thank Ismail for his work in completing the Audit Wizard. John was quite impressed by amount of details that it can track.

" I also would like to thank Jayaraj for taking time off his busy ISO schedule to complete the Import interface for Derbyshire during my absence.

" On the whole, last few months has been quite hectic and tough on the team, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with the project for seeing it through its logical conclusion.

" Looking forward to the Sepia Ver 3.01.00 !!!. So keep your chin up!”

Hearty congratulations to everybody involved with Sepia and Devaki in particular, for having made SEPIA a huge success!!

The party went on till 12.30 am and John was the life of the party, regaling everyone with anecdotes of his past association with India and an account of how he came to be associated with Bit by Bit. Last But Not the Least..
                                                                                        (top)

The company’s annual turnover for the year was expected to touch a crore. It has been a very pleasant surprise indeed, when we exceeded the projections by over 0.2 crores.

Here’s hoping that we continue to have many more pleasant surprises like this in the coming financial years!!
